As a result of Bell Hammer’s support, the Wimbledon Museum runs an extensive activities and learning programme.

Los Leones is focused on preparation for and participation in endurance events to raise funds for military charities. Membership is for armed forces veterans, serving military and civilians.
Wimbledon Museum
Wimbledon Museum is a small, volunteer-run and independent museum proud to champion the history and people of Wimbledon’s village, town and common.
As a result of Bell Hammer’s support, the Wimbledon Museum runs an extensive activities and learning programme, inviting people to make new connections and deepen their understanding of the place we love.
The programme offers schools sessions, self-guided activities for children and families and special workshops in school holidays. The museum learning team also works with specialist providers to deliver film-making and song-writing outreach courses for SEN schools and has developed a sensory trail in the museum.
Accessibility matters and through its lifelong learning programme and membership of Merton Dementia Action Alliance, the museum offers friendship groups and outreach reminiscence sessions, for example at Merton Memory Hub.
The programme also includes a Young Wimbledon Artists residency and collaboration with the Kingston University’s Art students on a learning trail design project and an animation to reimagine historic landmarks that no longer exist.
Bell Hammer’s generous funding of the museum’s activities and learning programme ensures that the volunteers, visitors and residents of Merton can share history, get together as a community and find more meaning in where we live.
